NB: The terms and conditions below apply to individual private bookings only. Group organisers will be issued with specific Group Booking conditions. We regret we are only able to discuss reservations with the person who makes the original booking. We will not enter into correspondence with third parties.
Prices and Payment Details
* Unfortunately, due to increasing numbers of people simply failing to arrive, bookings
will not be accepted without a deposit.
* All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
* Deposits and advance payments may be paid by cheque, bank transfer or credit/debit card
through PayPal - whichever is most convenient for you. However we only accept cash payments
on the premises.
Cancellation and Insurance
If you need to cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible. Whenever possible cancellations should be made to us in writing or via email.
* If you cancel more than 7 days before your arrival date - no further monies are due.
* If you cancel less than 7 days before your arrival date - we will attempt to relet your booked
accommodation. However, if we are unable to do this, you will be liable for any outstanding
balance.
These terms apply to both full and part cancellations. For these reasons you may wish to consider taking out cancellation insurance.
Non-Availability
If we are forced to cancel the booking for reasons outside our control, we will give you as much notice of the cancellation as is reasonably possible. We will attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this is not possible, or is unacceptable to you, then we will of course refund all monies paid by you in respect of the accommodation. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund in respect of the cancellation.
Arrival
Check-in is strictly between 4:30pm and 7:00pm only.
Green Gables House is primarily our home and due to our personal circumstances we do not accept arrivals outside these times.
Very important: If you fail to arrive by 7:00pm, the whole booking will be considered cancelled. Please avoid disappointment, frustration and embarrassment by taking this into account before committing to a booking.
Departure
We ask that rooms be vacated and the bill settled by 10am on the day of your departure. Should you wish to leave luggage, or park after your departure time, this is usually possible provided you let us know in advance.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care of our home. We take our responsibility to our guests very seriously and our home meets all legally required standards to ensure your safety and security whilst you are with us. However, you are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you or members of your party cause. Please let us know of any instances as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we will ask for payment if the damage or breakage is significant.
The facilities at Green Gables House are only available to guests staying in our home.
Right of Refusal
We reserve the unconditional right to terminate a booking in the event of unreasonable conduct which in our opinion is likely to cause distress, damage, danger or annoyance to other guests, ourselves, our property, our animals or to any third party. If you are prevented from continuing your stay as a result of termination, our responsibility for your stay thereupon ceases. Full cancellation charges will apply and we will be under no obligation whatsoever for any refund, compensation or loss you may incur.
General
* Green Gables House is a totally non-smoking environment. Smoking is only permitted in one
designated area of the garden.
* We do not accommodate children, pets or any other animals.
* Please make us aware of any special requirements including special dietary requirements or
allergies at the time of booking.
* We reserve the right to update and amend the information published on our web site at any
time.
All bookings form a legally binding contract protected under UK law.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects the guest’s statutory rights.
