Green Gables House is just one mile from Broadford village centre where you will find a range of shops and businesses to serve your requirements.  The petrol station is open 24 hours a day and supplies petrol, diesel and LPG.  Adjacent to this is the Co-op supermarket and a laundrette.  Other shops in the village include an internet cafe, jewellery maker, gift shops, Post Office, estate agent and numerous galleries.  There is also an excellent medical centre and the local hospital.

There are a range of places to eat in the area ranging from café style to pub grub to seafood restaurants.  If you don’t want to travel too far, there is a restaurant right next door offering good food to suit most tastes.

There are good transport links to the area.  The Citylink coaches to/from Inverness, Fort William and Glasgow will stop outside Green Gables House on request and you are literally on our doorstep.  There are service busses from Kyle of Lochalsh railway station which also stop outside.  The local taxi firm are always on hand to take you to your next destination should you wish to explore in more comfort.  However, if you have your own transport, we have ample private parking at the front of the house for cars, motorbikes, minibuses and cycles.

High Pasture Cave Project, Kilbride, Isle of Skye
Work at High Pasture Cave has opened a window on a little understood part of life in prehistoric Scotland.  Activity on site seems to have started 6-7000 years ago in the Mesolithic period.
